LilyGo T-Echo
The marathon runner of mesh devices. Go weeks between charges with this e-ink communicator featuring GPS and NFC.
Not MeshCore compatible
The T-Echo runs exclusively on Meshtastic firmware and cannot support MeshCore. For MeshCore networks, consider ESP32-based alternatives such as the T-Deck Plus or Heltec V3/V4 series.
Important: 868 MHz for Europe
Always buy the 868 MHz version for use in Europe. The 915 MHz version (US) is not allowed in Europe.
What is the LilyGo T-Echo?
For those who measure expeditions in weeks rather than hours, the LilyGo T-Echo represents the pinnacle of power efficiency. Built around Nordic's nRF52840 chip, this device can operate for up to a month on its internal battery when used conservatively.
The 1.54" electronic paper display works in partnership with the frugal processor, consuming energy only during screen updates. Integrated GPS from Quectel supports GPS, GLONASS, Galileo, and BeiDou constellations, whilst the 850mAh battery keeps everything running far longer than you might expect.
LilyGo, officially Shenzhen Xinyuan Electronic Technology Co., Ltd, has manufactured IoT development boards from their Shenzhen factory since 2018. The T-Echo showcases their expertise in balancing features against power consumption.

Why the T-Echo?
When battery longevity trumps all other concerns, the T-Echo delivers. The nRF52840 architecture consumes a fraction of the power that ESP32 devices require. Combined with electronic paper that draws nothing between refreshes, you genuinely can operate for weeks to a month per charge.
A distinctive feature is the NFC capability: tapping your smartphone against the device back triggers a display refresh. The multi-constellation GPS acquires satellites quickly even in built-up areas with limited sky visibility.
Critical limitation: The T-Echo cannot run MeshCore firmware. It operates exclusively with Meshtastic. The absence of WiFi also limits certain advanced features. Those wanting MeshCore compatibility should choose an ESP32-based device instead.
